The guichet-entreprises.fr website has been designed and developed by « Guichet Entreprises », a French government agency with a national remit created by the Order dated 22 April 2015 (published in the French Official Journal on 25 April 2015). It operates under the authority of the DGE (Direction Générale des Entreprises – Directorate-General for Enterprise), itself part of the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance.

The national « Guichet Entreprises » agency manages the guichet-entreprises.fr and guichet-qualifications.fr [1] websites. These jointly constitute the electronic point of single contact as defined by the European directives 2006/123/CE and 2005/36/CE. Points of single contact of this type exist throughout Europe and work together as part of the European Commission « EUGO » project.

Guichet Entreprises aims to provide an online one-stop-shop to enable future entrepreneurs and business owners to complete all the administrative formalities required in setting-up and running a business.

This means that any entrepreneur can complete the formalities and procedures required for the creation of a business, to modify it if necessary and to cease trading, via the guichet-entreprises.fr website.

For business creation, the guichet-entreprises.fr website registers the necessary formalities and then passes them on to the appropriate CFE (Centre de Formalités des Entreprises – Centre for Business Formalities), one of the following networks:

• the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) – www.cci.fr

• the Chambers of Agriculture – www.chambres-agriculture.fr

• the Chambres de Métiers et de l’Artisanat – Chambers of Trades and Artisans (CMA) – www.artisanat.fr

• the Urssaf (government agency responsible for collecting social security contributions) – www.urssaf.fr

• the Greffiers des Tribunaux de Commerce (clerks of the commercial courts) – www.cngtc.fr

• the Chambre Nationale de la Batellerie Artisanale (National Chamber for Inland Waterway Transporters – CNBA) – www.cnba-transportfluvial.fr

Guichet-entreprises.fr offers full information covering the formalities, procedures and requirements relative to the life of a business or to exercising a regulated activity or profession through its « regulated activities » fact sheets.

The service provided by guichet-entreprises.fr is aimed not only at all French entrepreneurs but also those living in the European Union or the European Economic Area. It provides information on how to set up a long-term business (freedom of establishment) or to work temporarily in France (freedom to provide services), and enables all the necessary formalities to be completed online.

[1] The guichet-qualifications.fr website encourages professional mobility by giving citizens the fullest possible information on how to exercise a regulated profession in France.
